Omschrijving

Technological interventions into biological processes through genetic engineering in the twenty-first century could speed up evolution at the velocity of light years in com-parison with the millions of years it took for Homo sapiens to reach this stage of evolu-tion until this new millennium. Will these technological assays lead to an eventual re-crafting of animal and human biology and ontology? Does our Post-Darwinian future lie in a post- or transhuman and post-spe-cies transcendence to be achieved through evolution by Intelligent Design controlled not by God but by bioengineers in laboratories? What challenges does this pose in terms of rethinking bioethics?
